Sufficient means of subsistence for a stay in the EU

A stay in the European Union often requires the applicant to show that they have enough money for the period of stay. In official language this is called sufficient means of subsistence. The sum is fixed by the country and by the purpose of the stay. Applicants commonly refer to it as a subsistence minimum.

A Continental Digital Banking personal account is one place those funds can be held. The international card is linked to the same balance and is used for payments. In the client area you see the balance, the card and the account history. Those records are yours to submit if an authority asks for proof of available funds.

What the bank provides

• A personal account in your name.
• A balance that shows the funds held on that account.

• An international card linked to the same account, for payments abroad and online.

What the bank does not do

Continental Digital Banking does not calculate the subsistence amount, does not replace a consulate or an immigration office, and does not guarantee that a particular authority will accept the documents. You check the figure and the list of papers with the office that invited the application.
